I need some help. How many carbs does my 2000 GTI have? I called a Seadoo shop and he said he thought it just had one but the shop manual shows two. If I had to do a carb job, how would one rate it for someone who's an average mechanic? My seadoo idles high and it smells if it is running rich with lots of smoke. Every once in a while it will die as well. When I get on the throttle, there is alot of hesitation and it will cut out. If I then cut the jet ski to the left and then the right it will take off like a rocket and run out well with an occassional miss. If I stay on the throttle and keep the rpm's up it doesn't act up as much. I have a 2000 GS that has a little hesitation to it as well but runs good after it plains out. I don't know what was stored in them over the winter as I just got them. Is this normal for a bad carb? Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks for the reply and confidence booster. I'm gonna take it on. Why do the fuel lines need to be replaced. Everywhere it's posted here on this forum says to replace the fuel line and I'm sure there's a very valid reason, I guess I will see why when I take it off. Also, last question for you. Do I hook the water hose up to the inlet just above and to the left of the jet on the GTI if I wanted to run it out of the water? It appears it has a 6-8" plastic pipe that sticks out with inside threads and I am guessing this is where it would hook up to the male end of the hose. Thanks for the help, greatly appreciate it.
