hi guys im new to this forum and recently bought a 2000 gsx seadoo (last weekend) and when i took it out the other day it ran fine was great fun till about half way thru the day when it started flashing maint on the display it flashes about 6 times when i put the lanyard in then goes away it still starts and runs fine just wondering what it means mabey its due for a service any help would be much appreciated as i know nothing about jet ski's this is the first one i've owned lol

yeah has about half tank of oil but i put some motorbike 2t oil in it was fully synthetic could this be the reason? was only about 400-500mm cos it was all i had and i didnt want to run it to low.

no, that oil should work. Think the 2t is Amsoil.

Double check the leads/grds...etc. Clean all contacts on batteries and wires. Check the black ebox for water and connections...if you gotta voltmeter, test battery while holding 5500rpm. Should be reading 13-14.5 volts.

o ok i'm really picky about what oils i run. i had to rebuild my 717 cause i was an idiot did not do my research and ran the cheapest oil i could buy lol

Speaking in general, but most of those "top" named brand oils, that being full synthetic, usually accompanies the use of either types of oil "specs". Not say'n go out and buy the stuff, but if inna pinch, i'd still read the bottles' label, and go from there. Of course, that Amsoil product, still carries about 9 other types which are meant for 4-stroke, but if i recall, the 2T is for the 2-strokes...

cheers guys thanks for all the advice will try a few of those things and c how i go will keep ya posted on my progess, g im glad i found this forum cos the local seadoo dealer in town wont touch the 2 stroke models and the only place to get it looked at is about 4 hours away from were i live!!!
