so we took our 98 speedster to lake houston for the first time and we find out o couple issues, first of all, I need some none slipery shoes, I landed with my arse at the ramp, that stuff was dangerous man.

when I just lunched it I found out that the reverse doesn't work :( I figure it has to be a cable or something disconected, no big deal ill look it up in the manual

when we got to where we can open up the throttle I was a little scared but everyhting worked out fine, just that my left throttle is real loose after the first third of throttle then it start getting snugg, then when at WOT my right engine will rev up to 7K but the left engine gets stuck at 4-45 hundres, any ideas?

thankx in advance ppl

we really had a good time out there.we my go out again on sunday :D

 your probably correct on the reverse issue. probly just needs a little more observing. the rpm issue is probably a fuel issue. you can do a search and find a lot of information on the fuel system to get you framiliar, it could also be alot of other things as well but will need for investigating as well. has anyone done a compression check on the craft at all?

I don't know if it has had a compression test, tonight ill check the reverse issue and see if I can find where the carbs are to clean'em up, I've red that it might be a small filter in the inside of the carb, and for the throttle been to loose ill try to adjust it by removing it and also look at the reverse cable

what do u think? o and ill check the fuses for the fuel gage (if I can find the fuses)

Hey save yourself alot of headache and Sign up as a premium member just to get your manuals downloaded and printed off...
Just by reading the manual you will have a lot better grasp on your boat and its needs...
The twin engine speedsters are great boats, so take the time to learn your boat and fix the small problems before they become big problems

yea thankx for the advise, I have the manuals allready, I wanted to print them but its too expensive to print so much info, ill just check it out tonight and get an idea of what I'm planning to do so I won't be like blind once I started looking for stuff inside the boat

your fuse box should be in the Drivers Storage cubby.. Lift out the container and you should see a Fuse block....

I looked in there but I couldn't find anything :( I searched the manual and I could find anything, the cd I got is kind of confusing, what I did was turn on the dash lights and unplug the cable for the fuel gauge and the light died for the gauge, but when I went and plugged it back in the light came back on the fuel needle when all the way up then down to empty, I know I have at least 8 gals. of gas, what do yall think???

as for the reverse and the throttle been to loose, well I took the cover off and was able to tighten the throttle I'm real happy I could "fix" something hahah and for the reverse I don't know when I put it in F it feels like there is something obstructing it,

should those shells come down when I put the shifter in R even if the boat is off?? or does it has to be running???

thankx ppl I feel like I'm doing some impovment little by little :D
