1999 SeaDoo GTI Issue

After replacing the fuel lines, fuel selector and oil filter, I am not able to get the ski to start. I also drained all of the oil and replaced with XPS lubricants full synthetic oil, and replaced all of the old gas as well. The engine is turning over, just not starting. Did another compression test - 125 at the front, 127 at the rear. Also did a test on the plugs, both are getting spark. They also appear to be wet after trying to start it.

Why haven't you rebuilt the carbs correctly. That is probably your issue for not starting. If the plugs are wet it is probably flooded.

No reason to premix unless you are installing a new engine and that would be 50:1.

With the choke on it should pull fue pretty quickly.

The way I prime the system is to leave the return line off the carb and cover the hose with my thumb. I then blow a little air into the tank vent and when fuel comes out of the return fitting on the carb put the hose back on and the system and arb are primed with fuel.

Just rebuilt the carb with the genuine Mikuni parts. After checking everything over after reinstalling, I realized the oil pump cable that attaches to the carb would engage when I pull the throttle, however it would not return to its rest position without any assistance. Any idea how to go about fixing this?

Are you sure you have the spring on the oil pump clocked the correct way so it is pulling on the cable?

Got everything back together. Ski only started briefly approximately 2-3 seconds after putting some mix in. After that, it would not start with or without mix, using the choke or throttle. Both plugs are getting spark.
