this ski has been a nightmare. new mpem (dont even think that was the issue) basically everything works now except it wont start. new solenoid for starter . what am i missing? everything has been replaced. new rectifier. it beeps twice like it should and now it wont start. new ground and positive going to starter. i lay screwdriver across solenoid and it turns over

Pull the plug out of the solenoid and get a multi-meter or 12v test light. With the key on you should get 12v on the yellow/red wire every time you hit the start button.

finally got it to turn over and it would not stop turning over even with key out. wtf is going on. i burned my finger disconnecting battery.

i got 12 v going to it without pressing start button. do i put meter prongs on both sides of plug or just the yellow red. where would i put other prong?

That little plug in the solenoid is what to disconnect. The other probe goes to ground and the other wire to the plug is a black ground wire. With the yellow/red doing random things I would look at the switch that is your start/stop button.

Pull the front storage bucket out and find the 2-wire plug coming out of the steering stem that has a black and the yellow w/red wires. Set your multi-meter to ohms and then test the continuity. the switch should be normally open and then zero out every time you push it.

brand new switch but i will take any advice at this stage. really wanted to run this ski this year but now im scared to even if it does run. maybe i can leave it on trailer and have neighbor throw water on me to get the effect of riding it. thanks again for help

so one last question. if ski starter goes out of control again how do i stop starter from turning over with lanyard out? keep in mind it takes forever to pop open those electrical boxes. i understand disconnect battery but is there any other way. what about big plug coming out of rear electrical box?
