I have a 1999 Sea doo GSX RFI that was running only at high RPMs in the water or would it stall. It also would not idle in the water and just stall out. Then one time it would not start at all, but turned over fine.

It will run great out of the water at any RPM, then the second we put it in the water however it will not start at all now. We checked the compression in both cylinders and they were 150 each. We also took apart the head to check for any gaskets that might be blown, everything was fine. The TPS was professional adjusted. Right now we have the exhaust apart checking for blockage and have not found anything. There was a bunch of water in the muffler, but i believe this is normal?

Any input would be awesome! Thanks!

Same Issue

I have the same issue with my 97 GSX, but I also have a 12V Low warning on the ski. I am looking into a rectifier issue with mine, but I do have all the same issues with the ski not idling, used to run good opened up, and started right up out of the water, but one you put it in the water it got stage fright. So I am hoping that it's electrical. I just changed all the gray fuel lines, and cleaned out all the filters. Hopefully, if I can find a rectifier I will be in good shape. Do you have any warnings comming up on the display??

Ironically i also have a 12V low light, which i have been ignoring?

I have a little update though.

I just put it back together and it started right up and ran great, all i did was clean everything and put it back together. I took it to the water and it started right up. I drove for about a mile and came back, turned it off and it wont start again.

I pulled the spark pulls and they were covered in oil, i burned off the oil with my cigarette lighter and it started right up again. This leads me to believe it is feeding too much oil to my plugs. Now i just need to figure out how to adjust it?

Help A Vet

I saw your request for help and when I noticed that you are a Vet, myself just returning from the VA, I thought you might find enlightening a flyer that was lying on the table. It was a statement recently made by Barrack O'mamma about his opinion of Vet's and medical care.

I know this is a site about Doos, however, last year when I returned from AD the folks on this site, who are vets, gave me a free ride for a few weeks, so,I hope they don't mind this thread reply. If they do, I humby apologize.

"Our military is an all volunteer force. . .Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the medical costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.. .I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country. . .I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
