First thing....download the "free" Service Manual for your ski. 2nd thing.....MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE ->print out the electric schematic on 11x17 paper, color all the wires with colored pencils and laminate the sheet.....this has saved me HOURS of time tracing wires. 3rd...stare at that schematic for a while and see how the power should flow through the ski....it's not that hard nor rocket science......
The "secret" to troubleshooting electric issues with ski's is to START with a GOOD battery...then trace all the wires, test all the connections and components (open them, look for any corrosion, grease them (di-electric grease), clean the snot out of everything, test each wire from point to point for continuity.....all connections should be clean, bright & tight. None of this costs any "real heavy" money either.....but you'll know your ski quite well going through this exercise - time & patience will be the key.
I have used nothing more sophisticated than a "free" meter from HF, some long alligator clip extension wires, the wiring schematic and a couple cold ones.......good luck.
