HI All,
a mechanic of 35yrs - and asked t replace a starter motor on a 1999 GTX 947 engine.
Stripped off the exhaust - carbs and finally got to the starter motor to realise someone had broken the bottom bolt which was standing proud.
I couldn't grab it enough to get it out - so the engine came out for me to get the bolt out and the starter swapped.
engine back in today - fired it up and it sounds sweet.
put it on the water and it bogs down.
I think (but hope not) that i have a pipe or two in the wrong place.
does anyone have any detailed diagrams / info on pipework location.
the guys who own it have only had it for 3 months - and it has been in salt water - lots of corrosion - but sounds sweet on the trailer.
been reading about Carb manifold gaskets... and over fuelling (which wouldn't surprise me) - but I think I'm a pipe crossed somewhere on the cooling system.
any help is appreciated.
