1999 GSX RFI Blown Top End Problem

I bought my GSX 2 years ago, 3 days later I blew the first piston. Rebored the jugs, changed the pistons, gaskets, etc. Everything has been working fine since.

2 weeks ago I noticed a slight loss of power and some difficulty starting at times. I thought it was because it was running rich on oil since the plugs were covered in oil (I did not do a proper plug test).

Last weekend before going out I started it in the garage and noticed a weird noise coming for the exhaust. Open the head and noticed the same piston was blown again. Metal shaving everywhere in the engine. What could be causing the same piston to blow again? I'm guessing it may be something related to the injector not giving enough fuel? Anyone had the same issue with the GSX RFI or pointers on why this is happening?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can’t rebuild a blown up engine and not determine what the cause was.

Probably a bad injector, dirty fuel filter or much less likely an oil issue.
