1999 GSX LTD bilge pump questions

So I’ve been working on my $150 jet ski and I’d like to test some functions, I’ve never had this thing on the water so just in case it decides to take on water I’d like to know if the bilge pump works. So with that being said is there an easy way to test if it works?

Btw buffing is a long yet rewarding process lol
