I am new to this but I think if I get the carbs off I can clean them, etc. working on port engine now. I have the shop manual, but that only goes so far. I CANNOT figure out how to get the durn throttle cables loose. I tried to take off the bolt with the spring but that bracket would not come off. I really dont want the spring to fly off. How do these come loose??? Also...They use those quick clamps on the fuel lines. Do I cut those and use hose clamps? And what about all those little lines? should I replace those? Awful little clamps there. Thanks a lot because I have searched for these answers and cannot find them and I refuse to run the boat any more like this.
Oh BTW, I have the thread for cleaning the rave valves and got the first off. What a mess, maybe I dont need to remove carbs after all???
And if youve read my previous posts I am no longer premixing...If it burns up so what...

I hope your oil pumps are in order and the lines are flowing.

As for your cables, spin the adjuster nut off to loosen the cable on the bracket. Next you need to find the end of the cable. There is a small metal dowel at the end and it slides into the throttle plate cam. Get some slack in the cable and pull the cable out of the cam's groves then pull the metal dowel out of its hole.

If you need a better angle, take a look at your lawn mower and how its throttle cable attaches to the throttle plate cam.

Thanks. I will have a look tomorrow. I had to leave it. Yaknow. My pos lwnmwr has a screw in it. ?? I have to order the kits anyhow.
