We need to replace the reverse cable in our Challenger, I have not been able to find any videos of this process. Can anyone share how to install it? Thanks!

Hhmm,,,some pics will help…you will need to pull the pump for sure and remove/raise throttle helm for sure,,,sometimes the screws are seized,,,have an impact tool handy,,will save you from stripping the heads,,,put the throttle bottle on a towel,,,you will have to remove the clips that secure the reverse cable,,,be CAREFULL to not drop the securing clips,,,they are brass,,and not magnetic,,,
of course remove the cable securing fitting at the hull,,,your big move will be to have a long “fishing cable” so you can pull the old cable out and pull new new cable up to the throttle body,,,I could be more specific,,,need pics of the removed helm body and the cable with the pump removed,,,big move,,,to secure that old cable with “fishing line”,,,
As I mentioned pics of the removed throttle body and an empty pump less transome picture will help us help you…
I am speaking in generalities,

The cable is bent under the shifter. When we unhooked it there, the back clam shells moved fine. This is the piece we need to replace. Does that help?

How do you remove the rubber nut and the small threaded end of the cable?
