1998 xp limited beeping

my xp has a beep after the key is on every couple of minutes. can anyone tell me how to fix this or what it is?

Its saying "Timer is Timed out". re-plug the lanyard and start it.

i need to add that it starts and runs like it should it just has this beep every couple of minutes

that beeping every 1-2 minutes is normal its telling you that the key is engaged and ready to go

or I should say it's reminding you the key is engaged so you don't forget to take it out
