I just got done rebuild the carbs on my spx and changing out all the grey fuel lines. The reason I went to clean them in the first place was after bring the ski out of storage it would not idle. I thought it was just gummed up form the winter so I brought it out on the water and rode it for awhile then I took it up to full throttle after a few seconds it died right off. Then I got it started back up and docked it for about an hour and went to start it back up and it took about 5minutes to start it again. Since I had spark and air wasn’t rly a problem I assumed the carbs were dirty. So I bought the rebuild kits and changed everything out and cleaned the carbs very well. The carbs were incredibly dirty. Then I took the gas tank out and drained all the fuel and clened that. I replaced the the water fuel spertor which was gummed up as well. Then I change all the fuel lines since they were starting to degrade. I also took the oil tank out and cleaned that and changed the oil filter. So now that everything is back together I started it up. Now It will idle a little roughly but idle none the less. But when I give it throttle it dies out sometimes, or if I slowly give it gas and get it going it starts to back fire. Im assuming that I have to adjust the adjustments on the cabrs. Also the small gas pump on the carb I took apart as well and cleaned.

So my questions I have are this:
1. Should I be getting fuel out of the small primer gas pump thing that is attached to the carb because I pull one end of to see if I was getting gas and nothing was coming out.
2. What is the procedure for adjusting the carb? Do I do idle ls then hs?
3. I used the original pop off springs that were in the carbs do I need to still do a pop off test?
If you guys can help me get this thing running that would be amazing because this forum already helped me through the rebuild and swapping out the gas lines and it saved me so much money!!

Thanks in advanced

Your problem lies in the accelerater pump. That should shoot a little gas in the carbs when you press throttle. It's not a primer but works like one. You have to make sure the carb arm is working the accel pump and the diaphragm in accel pump is moving in and out FREELY. ALSO check your low speed needle and make sure turns are to spec. If accel pump is not pumping find out why!
