1998 seafood gsx limited 951. Rubber hose between exhaust keeps melting and blowing a hole. New jet pump blew out all lines motor is getting water. New resonator too. Replaced rave valve on exhaust can still melting hose can’t figure out why.

The fitting at the front of the pipe,,cools the exhaust,,if you run water thru the motor, ,does the pisser work,,,no doubt you have a blockage,,,I would remove each hose and use an air pistiol to clear out every orifice,,use thin mechanics wire to clear the front water fittings,,,,is the cylinder drain clear?

Pisser works hooked to garden hose. When running in lake it has shoots water here and there. I’ve removed all hoses blew everything out. What do you mean by cylinder drain clear

You will have cylinder drain at the bottom of cylinders on the starboard side,,,you can go into the pump, and use an air pistol to blow it out..thru the fitting,,.sometimes sand accumulates and can block the drain,,,of course the water will overheat,,,is the inlet cooling line hose secured and clamped?,,also,,with the water connected, and the motor running of course,,look inside the pump cavity, and see if water is leaking where the pump meets the hull,,,sometimes,,the "O" ring can leak,,happens once in a while...this can occur from a bad "O" ring,,,or a pump that is not secured flush with the hull.

With open the cylinder drain nothing should come out correct.

I found blockage under the water regulator valve cleaned that took exhaust can and it had water sitting in it. Only way water would come out is taking the water regulator off no water would dump out of the other holes. What exactly does the exhaust can do. Would that have anything to do with my exhaust hose melting off.

The water spray on top of the water box prevents the exhaust hose from softening and collapsing inside the hose,,.the water injection up stream cools the exhaust gases so that they do melt the coupler.

Do you carbon in exhaust can would cause an issue

Also rust can flake off and cause blockage. My 99 had a big clump of grass, mud and pine needles in the garden hose connection. Blow out the pisser holes in the back of the ski. Mud dobbers will plug up any hole they can find.

I had the same thing happen to me. I cleaned up the exhaust valve. I haven't had a chance to run it enough to see if that worked.
