1998 GTX RFI shuts off

While running it just shuts off but restarts with no problem. Ran perfect last week. Ran for 15 minutes when it first happened then became more frequent where it would only run 1-2 minutes.. Didnt think I would make it back Did it at all speeds. Checked everything on land the next day and could not find any bad connections in wiring. started on land but could not reproduce problem. Any suggestions. Lost

Take every plug apart, and back together. If there is a dirty conection... that mat help. Also... I'm probably going to point my finger at the DESS post. They are known to get dirty, and loose contact, and sometimes the little magnetic switch inside, just goes bad.


I would start with cleaning the ring and tip of the post with a plastic scotch-brite pad, and scrub the inside of your lanyard.

If you still have an issue after you clean it... you may need a new post.

:cheers:Thanks I will double check every wire and connection, and run again. The post and key are clean so if I still have the problem I will order a new post.
