1998 gtx has a noise at idle...not the engine....sounds like it is something vibrating in the hull at the rear. If i up the RPM just slightly, the noise goes away. I grabbed every piece of hardware on the inside and outside but can't feel the vibration and/or where it eminates from. any thoughts?

I changed my jet pump oil and forgot to put the button and spring back in, made a sound similar to what you are talking about. Have you or someone else had that apart? If not, maybe the spring has broken?

If this is your first SeaDoo, the noise you are hearing is called the SeaDoo rattle. It's caused from play in the drive shaft. It's normal and you'll get use to it. When you are moving above an idle there is more pressure on the drive shaft and the noise will go away. Two things you can do to minimize the noise, set the idle higher, there is also an anti-rattle kit available, but I have found the results minimal.

Or you can do what I tell my wife when she hears a noise in her car, "turn the radio up".

My rattle at the rear turned out to be the 6 allen bolts that had come slack on the driveshaft plate that fits onto the pto
