Just wondering what xpl means? I want to see if this 1998 Seadoo xpl 951 engine long block gtx gsx is a match for mine?

XPL would refer to an XP Limited.

Much like the GTX Limited you refer to in the title often would be spoken of as a GTXL.

A 98 XP Limited 951 motor would be a match for your 98 GTX Limited. They are the same motor just in two different machines.

Keep in mind that in 1998 there were 2 different 951 engines. One was white and one was silver. These engines are different from each other and don't interchange easily. Stay with the same color engine.

As far as I am aware, the only skis that got the White engine are the 98 (1997.5) GSX Limited. This was the first production of the 951. By the time the official 98 lineup rolled out, they all had the silver engine. The 1997.5 GSX Limited was actually produced the later half of 1997 (hence the 1997.5 tag) but shows a 98 in the HINs.

Thank you! The guy selling it to me finally got back to me and said it was the same engine.. The only difference is the info gauge.. and my mechanic would need to use my stator cover.
