So my 1998 GSX Limited 951 has been running absolutely perfect, I have gone through everything and got everything working. Spark plugs have been coming out a perfect tan color. Just yesterday I rode it all day with no problems. I got back to the dock and decided to go for one more little spin. All of a sudden it lost all power and kept wanting to die, it did die a few times and was hard to start. A few times it seemed like the motor would not turn over. I have removed the pump and the spark plugs and sometimes it will turn over and sometimes it locks up. I can get it to start but there is a bunch of noise that sounds like it is coming from the lower end. When I started it today it blew some black oily liquid out the exhaust. I have checked out the motor and dont seen any holes or anything, but it will still start so Im thinking it isnt anything upper end related. Yesterday before this happened I was on the way back to the dock and I knew I was getting low on gas, it started to cut out so I flipped it to reserve. A minute or two later I flipped it back to on just to see that it was low but it continued to run with the on setting. So I dont think it was that low on fuel, but im wondering what possibly this cutout was that flipping to reserve could have been. I was thinking maybe the oil pump went bad but the spark plugs are actually much darker and black than they normally are so I dont think it went lean, it must be loading up and cant burn. Im wondering if anybody may have a guess of what has happened. Im guessing that maybe the crank bearings and seals have gone bad, but does this just happen instantly?
