1998 gsx limited spark issues

Bought this ski used and was told unit needed a new stator. Unit would start and run but would blow the 15 amp fuse at rear of machine. If I unplugged the stator plug the fuse would hold. Purchased a non oem stator and installed it (fun job), now I have no spark . I am wondering if there is a certain position the stator needs to be installed in. The stator harness does not allow for much adjustment . I have read something about timing marks but I see nothing. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks

I wouldn’t use an aftermarket stator.
You can get used, tested and guaranteed ones from Westside Powersports Seadoo.

Have you downloaded the maintenance Manuel for your ski yet. It has info in there about all this stuff.

Looks like there is a supplement too, grab both of them. I would also get the parts catalog and owners manual, they all have good info in them.
