Purchased above ski in August(2020). Absolutely mint condition. Had only 115 hours and still blew an engine rod. Am going to rebuild and would like advice on an end product stronger and at a high level of performance than the stock product. Any help from experienced rebuilders of this model would be greatly appreciated.

I would use pro x or OEM pistons. For the crank I used WSM bearings and seals and had a local guy rebuild it. I would also rebuild your carbs with genuine mikuni kits, be sure to check popoff, replace all grey TEMPO fuel lines, new selector valve, new fuel filter assembly.

Thank you. Sounds like you have some good experience. I took the engine out today to determine the extent of the damage and there is a hole in the block. This was unexpected and am thinking I need to buy an engine. What would you do at this point?
