1997 XP Reed Valve?

hi guys,

just wanted to know im sure some of you guys have pulled the carbies appart a few times, im getting my carbies rebuilt and the machanic firstly said we will install some need reed valves, but then said oh coz its a 800 motor it might not have them?

is it only the 951cc that got the reed valves? or do some 800 have the reed?

im just curious that all

Only the 951 uses reed valves, your motor has a rotary valve. I would question the ability of the mechanic.

yeah thaught that was the case, i think i may have just confussed him as i took my 99 xp ltd for a service and carb rebuild and wear ring/solas prop for my 97

on another note, my current prop had all ripples and sort of really badly dent bit on the end of the prop, would this make a considerably difference in power/cutting through the water? im getting a solas concord fitted so im hoping its going to get a better take off and speed?

Just to bring the ski in the door of the workshop,he should have known it did not have reed valves.You should not confuse a good mechanic.It did not confuse us!!!!!Think about it.Tread carefully
