Have an issues with injector oil flooding 1 cylinder with oil like a lot.

Can this engine be run with injection system disconnected and run premix fuel through it.

Would the issues with all this oil be coming from oil pump ?

This engine looks a lot like my 1995 670 skidoo engine.

Is there a reservoir of oil at center of crank that lubes water pump drive and lubes brass gear that drives rotary valve like the sleds. Is it possible the seal on crank blown between this centre housing allowing oil to flood lower crankcase ?

thanks

I guarantee it's not the injector pumping too much oil. It's the seals on the crank leaking oil through to your front piston. Seen it time and time again on older skis. The seals just get old.and brittle and shrink, partly from people using cheap oils. What you can do if the compression on the motor is still really good, is install a brass T valve on the large oil line that goes under the engine and bathes the rotary gear with oil. Just remember to turn this valve open when you run it, and off when you store it. I have seen people.get 2, 3, 4 seasons running like this.... but at some point you need a complete rebuild with new crank.

Actually the small check valve in the brass fitting into the intake can leak and flood that cylinder but more often than not they can fail closed and seize the cylinder.

But..... as MacAddict said 99% of the time it is the inner crank seals and the only way to fix it for good is a new crank.

If his crank seals are leaking converting to premix will not solve the problem and looping the rotary gear hoses could run out of oil quickly.
