Hi There,

I'm following the instructions in the Seadoo shop manual & operators guide for winterizing my 1997 Seadoo XP, but am having trouble with understanding:

a) Which hose is the "Water Supply Hose". (The photo in the manual is not a 787). I suspect the water supply hose is on the top, but can someone confirm?

b) Where the engine drain hose is located?

c) Has someone already documented/answered this somewhere? I've looked and haven't had much luck finding a good guide on winterizing a '97 XP.

Thank you.

Hi,
Look on top of the motor at the hose connections....1 will say "IN" and the other "OUT".

No engine drain plug, just start the motor and gun it a bit, a couple times to blow out any water, then add RV antifreeze if you want to.

try this for boat but worth reading...

also go to home page and scroll down to "How to" articles" open that then scroll down until you see "display thread option" click the arrow and click on "from the beginning" then click on "See threads"

Hi There,

Thank you for the response.

I cannot see "in" or "out" on the cylinder head. Are we talking about the same motor? 797 110 horse?

The manual (shop/operator guide) says to "install a pincher to engine drain hose". My understanding is that this helps the rad fluid to fill all cavities inside the motor when it is dumped in the "in" port. Are you saying this step isn't necessary? Would dumping in the RV fluid directly flow through the system, missing some of the important areas in the motor?

Thank you.

I have the same - 787 110HP. Maybe they stopped "imprinting" after 1996.

I use the back (by the pump) flush valve....start the motor and pour in AF until it comes out the pump. Never had a problem in 3 yrs that I've used AF.

Re:

ok, I'm still confused as to which tube is "in" or "out". There are two tubes, pointing towards the rider. One is closer to the outside of the pwc, while the other is closer to the inside and subsequently closer to the carbs and air filter. I suspect that the inside tube represents "water in" - is this the same on yours?

Sounds like things are handled a little different from 96 to 97. Anyone with a 1997 XP able to comment?

Thanks!
