Hey guys, I'm new on here an to the PWC world. I have recently bought a 97 seadoo xp 787 motor. I am having a cranking problem sometimes. it seems to get stuck on the compression stroke sometimes. I had it out yesterday ran fine. Today the problem started agian. heres a video of someone with same problem is me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVgxjVVJlEM&feature=related. Also seems to have a voltage problem. IT's a brand new battery, An is at 12.2v now. an when running it doesnt move into the 14's as it should during running.
I tested the volts on the battery was 12.2 then i tested volts going to starter soleniod one side was 12.2 when i put on otherside an hit the start button it goes to about 10v.

Please any input I've tried another starter too. Same thing.

Thanks Alot guys.

First i'd like to say thanks for replying an for helping me try an figure this out. I bought the first battery i bought back to auto zone an the guy there said that these battery's can't be load tested. I thought that was odd considering there 12v same as cars. I load tested first battery an it went down to 4v. So i went an swapped out for this one. But ill try it agian an bring the starter this time also. I've checked all fuses an connectors an all looked to be good. MY beeper works on an off so I can't test for advanced testing.Have to try an figure that out aswell today.

Any other idea's on why its not getting passed the compression stroke as in the video i posted up? It's wierd how some days is fine an others its not.
How can i test stater or reticfer to see if its working?

Thanks-Andrew

Yeah i have checked for that already. I found a very corruded set of wires coming from the recterfier. So i cleaned that up an pulled the stater out an cleaned it all up. I think the start/stop switch isn't working correctly. I tested right out the button with key out an its got power going to it. then i followed the wire down an tested agian an its grounded out. then i put key in an does same thing an cranks sometimes not every time i hit the button, But im not sure. Also my beeper doesnt work so i have to change that out.

Anymore input with be great!
