Hi,
I'm new to the thread. I been reading a lot of great stuff on here and hope that I can find an answer to my problems.
1st problem.
I have a 97 challenger 1800 and the exhaust hose came off the outlet, causing water to fill the engine compartment. Tried clamping it back down, but water still fills the compartment every time I try to launch it. Any idea where I can buy a replacement piece? It's the piece that enters through the rear hull of the boat. I'm not sure what it's called, but if you look at the rear of the boat from the outside, you can see a round hole on each side of the hull, that's the damaged exhaust piece that needs to be replaced.
2nd problem.
The top end of one of the engines was just rebuilt. when I try to start it, it turns over, but will not start most of the time. When it does start, it smokes a lot and the RPM's shoot up and only way to bring them back down is to pull the choke. Once I pull the choke, RPM's go back down, but if I shut the engine off, it won't start back up. Any idea???
