1997 gti parts

does anyone know if 1997 gti parts are interchangeable with diffrent models or are they parts specific was looking to change some parts to trace down a problem but dont want to buy new becaue im not sure what it needs.. like the lanyard post or the mpem any help would be great

In general, ski's are specific to model & year, with engines electricals & electric
accessories. Modifications and alterations can be made. Old style changed in the
'97 up. Can you now throw us the specific's?

was looking for a wrecked or craft that was parting out to buy a mpem or lanyard post cheap to try some diffrent things my ski run great but every once in a while just stops if you unplug a replug in the safety lanyard it will restart and run fine for a while. it doesnt matter rough or smooth water diffrent throttle positions i dont see any loose or corroded wires no water in elctric box. didnt know if i could use some parts off of maybe an 96 xp or a 99gtx ?
