I bought it with it not working at all and been checking things out on it. At first I saw the 5 and 15 amp fuses on the mpem were blown and replaced those. Then I found the battery was dead and replaced that as well. Now only one of my 5 amp fuses keep blowing as soon I put a new one in. I get no beep or anything out of it. I disconnected the grey plug with 4 wires at the front of top of the motor and the fuse won't blow when it's not connected. Does this mean my mpem is still good? What can I test next?

I read somewhere on here to check the ohms at the fuse location. To clairify location I want to make sure this is how the fuses go. If the MPEM is out and your looking at it I have 6 fuse spots starting from the top I have: 5A, none, 15A, none, 5A, 15A. I pulled the last 5A out and hooked my negitive cable of my ohm meter to the ground near the grey plug at front of motor, and the positive cable to the left side where the 5A fuse goes and got ~1.2ohms then to the right side and got OL. Does this mean my MPEM is toast?

Thanks,
Travis

The MPEM gets its ground from the stator. When you unplugs the connector on
the mag houseing, you unpluged the mpems ground, thats why the fuse not blow.
Its a four wire plug, a ground wire, an ignition pick-up wire, and two alternating
current wires one from each coil in the magnito houseing. Remove the MPEM from ski and Bench test it. You litterally need to clean all connections one at a time & dielectric grease them & reconnect, inspection the wire harness as you go.

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the connections and they all look good. This ski has has a babied life and has never been ridden hard, rolled or had water in the hull. How should I go about bench testing the MPEM? Thanks for your help so far

I tested the mpem following some online information and found that the mpem was the problem and not the stator. I pulled the mpem apart and tested the diode near the fuse block which tested bad, I found some correct diodes and put them in. I tested the mpem which is now working fine, then sealed it all back up. Now I get the beeps, cranks, and runs!!! Took about 2 hrs to do, since I was being careful. Thanks for everyones help. If anyone needs help with fixing it let me know
