1997 gti 717 no spark

HI All,
97 gti no spark. Looking at the schematic the signal for the ignition coil goes from the ignitor (pickup) in the magneto system to the MPEM and finally to the ignition wire via the white wire attached to the ignition coil. When I test the white wire at the ignition coil, what should the reading look like and what values should I expect?

Have you tried unplugging the black/red stripe wire to see if you can get spark. That wire comes off the MPEM

I would say your stator is shot. But try the above first. Also try cleaning your connectors and grounds. Dialectic grease on everything after cleaning.

I tried a spare coil I know is good and cleaned all off the connections and applied dielectric grease. I'll try the RD/BLK wire.
