1997 GSI ( 717 ) no beep, no crank

Its just that how they work is toi much complicated and stupid for nothing, and then when you want to repair it , the pieces dosen’t exist anymore or you need to wait 1 months to get some help from a dealer
 
Really, this one was easy to do. But I admit that when a 2 stroke breaks in the peak of summer and that you need to rely on someone else to fix, you will be watching the lake from the beach.

4 strokes are even more complex but more reliable I believe.

For your current issue, replacing the DESS post is quick and easy. Took me a few hours and I had the part within two days. Probably that yours is exactly the same part as mine. About 8 screws to remove, 4 wires to cut, splice and reattach and that's it.

I am happy to have fixed mine by myself and now I have two working Sea Doos !!
