Just bought this boat, needs carb work, compression check is good, working to get running, when I do, the thing needs completely re-upholstered, any ideas on best way to achieve this and, is there a way to order a hardbook service manual, any phone numbers to Seadoo?

just found a "recall" thread on this particular boat. It mentions, after trial/error, by Seadoo, that the carbs "were" under-jetted on the pilot jet.

Install a 67.5 jet, from the original 67 jet, and turn the LSA to 1-1/2. Also, you need to invest into the "new" style "slotted" RAVES...guess it makes a world of difference/performance.

What recall thread are you speaking about?

Looks like back in the day when these boats came out there was an upgrade done to them because of some complains regarding bad starting and engine bogging at 5k rpm’s. It involved bigger pilot jets 67.5 and the rave valves. Unfortunately if back then the person that owned the boat never took it to the dealer then the upgrade was probably never done. Seadoo will not do it for free any more.

The jets are not a big deal but the Rave valves are like 60 each.

Sorry to bump an old thread... but do JUST the pilot jets need replaced? Or also the main?

I'm going to rebuild my carbs and would like to get this issue fixed

Thanks!

thanks for bumping this, as i just picked up a challenger 1800 myself and one engine bogs at 5k rpms for 3-5 seconds before picking up and screaming to 7k. the boat doesnt have many hours on it from the looks of the engines but the hull\interior are ratty from being left outside so it sounds like my boat never had this recall done for the pilot jets...
