Guys,
new to the forum and atempting to navigate my way around.I think I am in the right place now.My issue is that I have a 1997 Challenger 1800 that would just click when attempting to start.Decided it was the starter and after much drama, finally removed it.Attempting to source a new one from the states and there lies the dilemma. The starter that came out of it is a 8 tooth starter, yet nearly all the replacements for that model ad even the SEADOO website suggest it should be a 9 tooth. Unfortunately the starter itself was pretty rusty and could not find model number. One thread I read says the 8tooth is merely a high torque replacement for the 9 tooth and that they are interchangeable. This would be good as the 9 tooth are heaps cheaper and more readily available than the 8.The other drama I have is as to why mine is fitted with 8 tooth starter when website explains the correct component being 9 tooth.Any help greatly appreciated as I need to import this part and want to get it right and soon.

Regards - Docyard
