1997 Challenger 1800 Oil Levels?

Ok, 2 days ago I bought a used Challenger. It is a 1997 model with perfect running motors. I do not use the auto oil injectors, and I have heard they fail very easily. I mix fuel myself, which is easy. The one thing I seem to want to fix is how much oil I should put in the fuel. Right now the ratio is 28:1, or 32:1 if I run the gas down and go to backup. I remember a while ago while still searching that it was running VERY rich. So when I idle the engine, it smokes like crazy. But when I put the throttle down and go around 10 kts, (min) it will stop. I was curious what the recommended levels are, thank you for your help too. :)

Is that a normal mixture? I am really just going to use it to go around 30 MPH, and occasionally 60. That seems a little high for me, the engine is of course the 787 Rotax.

You heard wrong about the injection systems on a seadoo. The best there is.
Premix is always going to smoke and load up at idle speeds. Restore it back to injection.

Yeah they are very reliable, if maintained properly. If you insist on premixing, it should be 40:1. The injection system is variable rate, at idle its like 100:1 and at WOT it is more like 40:1

Ah, I will try that. Thanks for the help. It won't idle much, it will only idle for getting it off the trailer and moving it in 6 ft deep of water. Thanks for the help!
(Don't worry as I know how much oil goes per 5 gallons or per 10 gallons at a time. :)

Just ran the boat all day in the water, and it runs great! No more of the smoke problem with premixing 40:1. Great on gas.. With 2 engines running 4,000 RPM for 6 hours is amazing. In 6 hours of cruising, tubing, and just freeroaming, we only used 1/4 of a tank. I just love SeaDoo products.. But, I had a problem.

One of my friends is not very used to boats, and when we were pulling a tube in when we were done, the anchor line we used got under the boat. It was sucked into the intake and was almost like glued to the shaft. Luckily it didn't get the impeller, but was an ass to get out.
