1997 challenger 1800- easy question!

I just bought a very weathered 1997 challenger 1800. Interior is shot. I'm trying to figure out how to open the lid to the motor compartment. Stupid question I know. Cushion is missing off of the back deck and I see a hole with a bolt and slotted nut. Is this it?

Also, What is the best wax/polish to bring back it's shine?

To open the lid, you have to pull up on the "T" handle under the storage lid in front of the drivers seat. Sometimes you need someone to lift up the lid while you pull the handle.
