1997 -98 GTX limited 951 one beep no start

Hey guys, so I’ve come to start my ski up after the winter, new battery connected but when I pug the key on I get no beeps but gauges come on, then I press the start and I get one longish beep and the gauges go off. I left the key out and pressed the start button 5 times for diagnostic mode and when I plug the key in it gives me 3 beeps, would this indicate the dess post faulty? The engine cranks over with a screwdriver on the solinoid so would I be right to assume the one long beep and the 3 beeps mean something with dess post or key?

Any confirmation or insight on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

It indicates the MPEM isn't recognizing the lanyard. Try cleaning the lanyard and post.

I’ve tried to clean the post and the key but still nothing, when I put the key in I get no beeps but the gauges come on, then when I press start one longish beep and the gauges go off then come back on a few seconds later
