Hey guys!

My ‘96 has flat-spot when cruising at 1/4 throttle, it will gradually slows down but will haul ass at 1/3 and above.

Any ideas? Acceleration from idle seems fine, just that weird flat spot when cruising.

Rave valves are another possibility. It can feel like a dead spot when you’re in that range where they are just starting to transition...

Lean like out of gas but just slightly. I might be over sensitive to it lol. I did just do new fuel lines and selector. Will go back through my connections. Could be raves, does feel like shes “coming up on the pipe”

If your rave caps are screwed all the way in, take them out to flush and see if that gets rid of, or at least moves, the problem.

Moving the caps will not get rid of the hesitation completely, but if it feels like it happens earlier or later in the powerband, you’ll know you’re on the right track.

The raves won’t typically cause symptoms until around 1/2 throttle, 4,000-5000 rpm. If it’s actually 1/4 throttle I would suspect the small transition holes in the carb body.

Looks like a carb issue. Don't know nothing about your ski but I had that four years ago when someone obviously incompetent rebuilt my carb. I ended up buying a brand new carb from OSD and issue was gone. Ski would accelerate up to 20 mph, then get stuck there and then would rush to 30 mph. There was no way I could go 25 mph on that carb. It was either below 20 or above 30, nothing in between.
