1996 spx

I really need to stay off marketplace. I found this 96 spx. No title or trailer or course but Im always looking for parts to keep mine going. Gave the guy 200 bucks. Hooked a battery up and nothing not even a squeak. I am able to turn the engine over by hand and it has compression, not sure how much.
Does this unit use a des key? the lanyard looks different than my gts.

Without looking it up, I’m not sure if it uses DESS or not, can you take a picture of the post where the key goes, if the key has a magnetic steel piece in it and the post has a metal button and a metal ring around the post then it’s DESS. If it’s just a rubber piece that hold a button down then it’s not DESS

Usually a 96 SPX is the same as past model year XP, 95 XP is not DESS
