I've got a 1996 seadoo xp. I recently replaced the starter solenoid and starter. When I try to start it I get a click from the starter solenoid and a click from the front power box (where mpem is). The red power wire from my battery also gets very hot. I've got a brand new battery as well. My battery light is also on when I put my dess key on the post. Any idea why I'm getting a single click from both places and why the red wire is getting hot?

The cable is either bad or the starter is bad. The high resistance is causing the heat.

The cable meaning the red power coming from the battery to the solenoid or the solenoid to the starter? They are both heating up.

Probably a bad starter then.
Although that doesn’t rule out the cables. They corrode from the inside.
