Do you guys think is recomendable to spray WD-40 in the carbs to get rid of water? I was told by a mechanic to do so, and it would replace the seadoo carb and spark plug lubricant. I have done it a couple of times, smoking the whole neighborhood.. but it does seem like it helps it. The thing is, if I keep on using it would I do damage to the carbs?....please advice..thx. can anybody please tell me what kind of lube I could use for the carbs and the plugs..thx:dupe:

Water?

First, you need to find the source of the water. If this is coming from your fuel tank, then you need to pump it out. If water came in from the bilge, you need to pull the plugs and blow out as much water as you can.

You can use alcohol to absorb water. It's better than the WD, as long as your not starting it. You should not run the motor if there is any quantity of water in the cylinders because water does not compress. Trying to compress water can cause damage to your rings.

I did get the engine hydrolocked one time last year, I was able to get the water out by taking the plugs out and following the manual. But my question is, is it recomendable to spray WD40 often to lube the carbs or to displace any water it may have inhaled, and to use it in the plug holes as a piston lubricant. Please advice....
