Put the boat in water took off perfect the water was really choppy high winds after about 20 min I noticed that when I gave it gas the idle went up to about 7000 but gain no speed then it would slowly gain speed and when the boat leveled out 45 50 MPH no Problem as soon as I let off right back down it has a new motor and is running premix and the oil injectors are still hooked up

It is good to have the premix for a new engine and also to start each season 5-10 gallons is good to observe the oil system drinking, then just gas and go when all is well, how well did you inspect/repair/replace fuel system stuff while the motor was out? The 90's 2stroke all have fuel leanout problems related to hoses/selector leaking air causing the overheated piston problems, before you spend a lot of time on the water make sure there is no chance for air to enter the fuel system making the surging sypmtoms and then when you get brave with the throttle you come back with burnt pistons.

We took it out 2 weeks ago for the first time and everything was good drove good responsive could the water being the way it was thrown something out

Sorry about the delay, check the side of the impellor housing for grooves - this is the wear ring and saves the impellor from damage.
