i have had a on going problem with this ski. as you increase throttle it sounds like a clogged jet or a fuel problem rpm goes only so high and then it sounds like its running bad like a clogged jet but its not. i have replace both the carbs and spark plug wires and assy from a good running ski. i have also replace the fuel valve and filter. i am wondering if it could be a faulty rev limiter or the rectifier. how does it limit the rpm??? would it sound like the ski is running bad or does it just simply lower the rpm?? also could the rectifier cause this, the battery is fully charged. by the way the problem comes and goes. if i keep racking the throttle back and forth sometime it goes away. this made me think that i had a fuel issue but i have replace everything related to that.

Please Help!!!

thank brent

not sure what could be causing your problem i have weird electrical problems to tho in one of my skis the biggest answer you are going to get is to look in the manual lol, they are free online. the one thing for you to check that i could tell you is get a good volt meter put it on dc20 and put it on your battery see what your are getting hopefully about 12.3 or higher and then start the ski and rev it a little you should be getting around 13.5 -14.5 or so and nothing really over 15 v if its abouve 15v then you need to get a new one or if its under the 13.5 like say just sticking around what it was then you need a new one.

Also my ski messed up like this before were it would feel weird it turned out to be the water seperator oring has bad i bought a new one from seadoo shop and it sealed up nicely and ran great, guess i was getting air in system

The rev limiter is part of the MPEM, and I've never heard of one going wacky. The rev limiter works by cutting the ignition... so it has a very distinctive "Stuttering" sound.

You could have a bad CDI, coil, or the wires are leaking. (but you swapped them)

Yes, it could be the regulator/rectifier. When they go bad... the ignition will do strange things. Put a volt meter on the battery, and start the engine. As you bring up the RPM's... it should be 13.5 to 14.5 volts at 5000 RPM's. If it's higher than that... you need a new regulator.

Along with that... I would check over all the grounds. Take them off, clean them, and reinstall.
