1996 gti mpem

the gti quit running after a half day on the lake ,battery is good i checked the mpem it failed miserably so my question is all the after market ones i have seen only have 12 wires mine has 13 ,is there a jumper wire or some thing that has to be added ,and the 2nd question is do i have to reset the timing or will it be already set ,any help is appreciated as always

I used one for my 96 GTi with zero issues. It did not have the DESS system, so it didn't have the white w/black tracer wire for it. Otherwise it worked perfectly fine. A ski that old isn't worth spending a few hundred on for a used MPEM. The aftermarket ones work fine.

Cool thanks for the info .and yes it's a good ski to take out and let your friends ride . I don't let them ride the new one lol.

Just to confuse you there have been a lot of members here that had bad aftermarket MPEM's out of the box.

If it were my ski I would buy a tested used OEM one from [MENTION=41828]Minnetonka4me[/MENTION] here on the forum.

Well already bought one from Bay area motor sports and added the 20 3 year warranty .so I will keep my fingers gets crossed
