1996 GTI idle issue

any thoughts im thinking its the rectifier ,ski was running great ,and half way through the season it started stalling after coming back to idol ,,carbs are rebuilt ,fuel lines are changed ski runs great ,just stalls after returning to idol rectifier was changed last season but not sure what the make or quality of it was

How is the ski running off idle? Look at your spark plugs for color and/or put in a new set. What is your idle RPM ? It may be a bit too low. Might try turning the low speed adjuster in 1/4 turn. That's a bit much but it reveals more than smaller adjustments. If it gets worse... come out 1/2 turn from that point to see what happens. If neither has much of an affect it might be time to look into the carb.

You could also remove the spark plug caps and clip 1/4" off the Spark Plug wires. Make sure the caps are good and tight when you replace. This might be a good first thing to do if you have not done it previously.
