1996 GSX Cooling Hose question after removing Jet Pump

Hi Guys. I recently removed my jet pump to replace the wear ring. The Seadoo manual I have said to remove the bilge and cooling hoses inside the engine compartment. Had to remove the VTS unit to get to the hoses (which was a pain). As it turns out, I didn't have to do any of that. Nothing in the engine compartment was affected when I pulled the pump off. My problem is that I disconnected two black cooling hoses and I don't remember which hose goes to which fitting. I know one hose is for water coming in and one is for water going out. One of the hoses is a single piece going from the engine head to the back of the craft. I think this is the water going out. The other hose has a tee in it with a small hose going to a big purple tank (exhaust expansion?). I think this hose is for the water coming in. Which fitting should the hose with the tee in it be attached to....the fitting closest to the port side (basically right next to the big purple tank) or the fitting closer to the drive shaft?

Thanks for the reply. I had actually found the link you referred me to. On the diagram it's just a little too close to call. I'm thinking that maybe both fittings are for water coming in...One from the flush fitting and one from the jet pump. If that's the case, my guess it that the hose with tee on it should be connected to the jet pump fitting.

the fitting with the hose adapter is the OUT. That is the connection inside the hull closest to the port side. when you hook up the hose you are backflushing the system.
As you said the hose with the T that connects to the water control valve on top of the waterbox/muffler is the IN hose.

from the left side of the ski, it's not real accessible but you should have been able to get the hoses off and on w/out removing the vts.

and you are right, nothing inside the gsx needs disconnected to remove the pump. Don't forget to put the little o-rings back on with the pump.

the hoses basically crisscross from the back of the ski to the connections on the cylinder head. there is a picture of the cylinder head cover water flow in the shop manual that can be misleading as to which port is in and which is out. You have to realize the picture is showing the cylinder head cover sitting upside down

Perfect! Your description is how I have them hooked up. I just started second guessing myself as I began tightening the hose clamps. I feel much better now. You know, I probably could have gotten to the cooling hoses without removing the VTS, but not the bilge hoses...I couldn't even see them. Oh well, in the unlikely event I ever have to remove or replace it, at least I know what to do! As far as this issue goes, I'm fixed up. I do appreciate the replies and good information. The internet is good for something.
