1996 GSX Carb

I’m rebuilding the carbs. Ordered carb base gaskets part #293250134. My question is where the top of the carb mounts to the flame arrestor plate is there supposed to be another pair of gaskets. I’ve looked at numerous parts diagrams and don’t see any gaskets used.

No, the top doesn’t use a gasket. Just 518 sealant.

Wow, really? I've never used anything there. Could that cause any issues other than maybe being able to suck some water up?

Water ingestion would be the only issue but if it gets that high the airbox would probably be sucking it too.

The manual calls for the sealant and that is what the red/brown residue on it is.

That's what I figured. If it was critical, I think Seadoo would have put a gasket there.

The flange sealant is the same as a gasket, I use it every time.
