1995 XP engine mount issue

H2O, again with another issue. Got a XP and son was water skiing behind it (19 years old and to heavy to be doing that on a XP). So he gets back and engine compartment full of water. Drain and notice that bolts are broken between exhaust manifold muffler. Then start it to make sure it will start. Engine shaking like#$@%$&*(!. Shut it down and looks like he has broken the bolts that tie the engine to the bottom engine plate. Thought it might be the rubber mounts in between the hull the the engine plate but no. Just installed a rebuilt engine last spring. Questions is, could of they torqued it up so much that it would break the bolts securing the engine to the plate or could it be something else.

Are we talking about the bolt that goes through the bedplate into the rubber engine mount?

Also if you are breaking headpipe bolts it's because the rubber bushings on the lower pipe are worn out.

Not the rubber mounts, the 4 bolts that secure the engine to the bed plate. Can rock the engine side to side but bed plate is secured on the rubber mounts.

It can loosen up.

Your probably going to have to pull the engine to make sure the cases aren’t damaged or the bed plate itself.

Those bolts need good strong loctite and can come loose.

Appreciate the info. Seems the exhaust rubber bushings are shot. Two broken bolts and the holes in the bed plate are wallowed out. Pulled engine and need to remove broken bolts and find a good used bed plate. Thanks for the help.
