1995 SPI Check Valve on top of oil tank

I'm new to pwc's and just bought a 95 spi. By virtue of my own stupidity, dont ask me how, I broke off the check valve on top of the oil tank at the oil level sensor. Now there is just a small hole there on the side of the sensor. To fix I'd have to get a whole new assembly to the tune of about $90. If I don't fix will my biggest problem be some oil leaking or could this cause a major problem down the road. If it's just a little oil I could live with that. Thanks.

you can.....


a) Find a used one on ebay

b) drill, and tap the little hole, and put a small nipple in it, to run the vent somewhere where the oil won't be leaking in the hull. (hobby shops have very small pressure nipples) Like this....
