Hi- The cable was pretty corroded and snapped so having to replace it. I've been reading up on similar threads where the difficulty is removing the cable in the back at the transom. My understanding was that you remove the nut on the inside and free up some slack so you can push it out. This gives you room to remove the retaining ring and the 2 1/2 rings.

I attached a pic of the inside of the ski where the cable runs thru the hull. I was expecting to see the nut where I could remove it but instead the nut seems recessed.

At first I thought the nut was missing. I probably could slip a socket over it if I cut the cable. But pretty sure this is not the way it would normally be done.

Any ideas on how to remove it?

Thanks in advance-
Carey

You need to remove it from the outside so you can get the retaining parts off.

No idea of previous owner's maintenance so probably good to inspect the pump as well and change out the oil while in there.
Thanks for your help-
