Ok I'm new to the Seadoo jet boats. This is probably a really dumb question, but I bought a used 95' Sportster from a freind and I cant get any spark. I've checked everything I can think of, but nothing. My question is, do you have to have that lanyard to get it to fire or can you just hold the button to get it to fire?
TIA:confused:

Welcome to the forum.....

No, your new.....there can be no stupid questions........now, had you owned one for 10 years and came in here to ask that.....:ack:
You have to have the lanyard key. I"m not sure what year the DESS (digital electronic security system) took affect on the Sea-Doo's, but even then, you still had to have your lanyard to get any electric current from your electronic module..........
Good luck!...
