Guys, I having trouble with my pump. I guess I bent the driveshaft on my GTX. I didn't know it at the time and ran it on the water, and it broke a chunk out of the wear ring about 5 mins off the trailer. I went into replace the wear ring, and decided to replace the pump bearings and the carrier bearings too. I ordered a replacement driveshaft but got one for a 1996 GTS instead. I have put it all back together and when I torque down to 26 ft/lbs the engine binds up and will not spin. I have since found out the 1996 GTS shaft is a 1/16" longer than my 1995 GTX, is this enough to bind up my pump?

If so, can this driveshaft be milled down to fit? If not, how hard it is straighten my old shaft, and whats the best way to do it?

I spoke to a machine shop today and they said they could potentially straighten the old one, if it isn't hardened steel. Anyone know if OEM draiveshafts are hardened or mild steel?

Would it be possible to double up neoprene seals and place washers behind the pump to get the extra clearance, or am I pushing a bad position?
